Arrests made in string of 20 burglaries in Richland County

Deputies say two brothers and another man are responsible for the string of 20 burglaries.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Deputies have made three arrests in a string of burglaries in Richland County

Deputies say two brothers and another man are responsible for the string of 20 burglaries. 

Investigators arrested 20-year-old Nicholas Frye on Feb. 20, 2024, his 19-year-old brother, Marcus Frye, and 21-year-old Austin Harmon on Feb. 23, 2024 in connection with 20 burglaries and stolen trailer incidents.

Deputies say all of the incidents occurred within five miles of the Frye brothers’ residence on Kennerly Road beginning in January of this year. Trailers, lawn equipment, power tools and spare tires were stolen in these incidents.

Deputies say two brothers and another man stole trailers, lawn equipment, power tools and spare tires, all within five miles of the brothers' home.

Marcus Frye is charged with five counts of second degree burglary, six counts of grand larceny, 14 counts of petit larceny and one count of breaking into an auto. He received a $345,400 surety bond.

Nicholas Frye is charged with five counts of second degree burglary, three counts of grand larceny, 11 counts of petit larceny and one count of breaking into an auto. His bond was set as a $50,000 surety bond.

Austin Harmon was charged with one count of accessory before the fact. His bond was set at a $7,500 surety bond.

Richland County Investigators are asking for anyone who purchased trailers or saws from the Frye brothers to please contact Inv. Oxendale at 803-576-3000 as these items may have been stolen and need to be returned to the victims.
