ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Orangeburg County deputies have made arrests in two separate burglaries on one street in Eutawville earlier this year.
Christopher Peagler, 31, of Holly Hill, and Roy Roberts, 48, of Eutawville, have been charged with burglarizing two homes on Chokeberry Circle in Eutawville.
Peagler is facing charges of first-degree burglary, grand larceny, malicious injury to real property and criminal conspiracy.
Roberts is charged with third-degree burglary, grand larceny and criminal conspiracy.
During hearings on Wednesday, Peagler’s bond was deferred to a circuit court judge while Robert’s bond was placed at $10,500 cash or surety.
The charges against Peagler originated after a pair of golf carts was taken from a Chokeberry Circle residence at some time around October 31.
Roberts was arrested after golf cart was taken from another Chokeberry Circle residence.
“These individuals targeted this one area for stealing other people’s property,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. “There are consequences to stealing and we’re going to show them what those are.”
The two men are suspected along with more suspects of being part of multiple break-ins in Orangeburg and other counties.
Deputies say warrants have been obtained against 52-year-old Wade Carson, Jr. of Summerville and 46-year-old David Clark, Jr. of Holly Hill.
“We have more warrants to make more arrests in these cases,” Ravenell said. “Their partners may think they didn’t get caught. But we’re coming for them next.”
