Batesburg-Leesville Police searching for 18-year-old suspect, considered 'armed and dangerous'

Teenager wanted in aftermath of weekend shooting in Lexington County

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. — Investigators with the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department are asking the public in locating a teenager they say was allegedly involved in a Friday night shooting that left one person injured.

Police say 18-year-old Da’Jae Wigfall is a suspect in the May 10 shooting that took place near the Exxon station at 102 S Pine St., in Batesburg-Leesville.

According to reports, police responded to that location around midnight Friday and found an adult male in an adjacent parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Lexington Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury.

Wigfall has been charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime and police consider him to be armed and dangerous.
