CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. — The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office and state agents are searching for a man who allegedly killed his father on Sunday night.
In a statement released Thursday, the sheriff's office said deputies responded to a home on Hotel Street in the Alcolu area, where they found a man, German Josefin, lying on the ground outside with a stab wound to the upper torso. Authorities said he was already unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies investigating the scene learned the stabbing allegedly happened inside the home after a fight between him and his son, Lauriano Josefin-Antonio, who is now the suspect.
Authorities said he ran from the scene and evaded law enforcement despite deputies setting up a perimeter and utilizing the sheriff's office K-9 tracking team. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has joined the search.
Based on preliminary information, the stabbing was an isolated incident, and they don't believe there is a threat to the public. The sheriff's office urges anyone with information about the shooting to call their office at 803-435-4414 or 911.
