COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County deputies are investigating after a shooting that left a woman dead and another woman injured outside a nightclub in Columbia.
Investigators said the shooting happened around 11:50 p.m. Sunday near Club Space, located at 2732 Decker Boulevard. Deputies said they were working detail on that area when they heard gunfire behind the business.
The sheriff's department said when they went to where they heard the shots coming from they found two victims and began trying to save their lives. One of the victims was conscious and alert despite a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The other victim had been shot in the upper body and was unresponsive. Paramedics pronounced her dead on the scene.
No suspect was found at the scene. Investigators haven't yet said what may have led to the shooting of who may be responsible.
