A shooting incident in Five Points Wednesday night turned out to be accidental.
Columbia police say a man touched a firearm believed to be in his pants, accidentally injuring himself.
An investigation was launched after the incident was reported at the Shell at 831 Harden Street around 8 p.m. It was determined to be an accident after police reviewed surveillance video of the area.
The victim was treated at a local hospital and released. No other injuries were reported.
