Columbia police investigate early morning shooting at apartment complex, victim in critical condition

Police are investigating and urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities say a man was taken from the scene in critical condition following an early morning shooting in Columbia on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the Columbia Police Department said the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. at Three Rivers apartments located on Gracern Road.

Officers arrived to find the adult male victim, who was rushed to an area hospital. His condition wasn't available on Saturday afternoon.

Police are still investigating what led to the shooting and searching for the person responsible. Authorities urged anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or visit CrimeSC.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
