RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has identified the victim of a car crash on Percival Road on Monday.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) Master Trooper Gary Miller, a 2001 Jeep Cherokee traveling west on Percival, near Quail Run apartments, collided with a 2010 Nissan Maxima attempting to turn left onto Percival from a private driveway around 3:50 p.m.
The driver of the Nissan, Fredrick O. Gordon, 38, of Columbia, died as a result of his injuries. Two passengers in the Nissan were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
SCHP and the Richland County Coroner's Office continue to investigate this incident.
