Richland County, SC (WLTX) - A South Carolina Department of Corrections officer has been fired after state agents say she assaulted a handcuffed inmate.
Tierra Shante Armstrong, 25, has been charged with assault and battery third degree.
A warrant states that back on October 1, while she was working at Kirkland Correctional Institute in Columbia, Armstrong hit a male inmate in the face several times while he was in handcuffs. The inmate was under her custody and control at the time.
She was booked on her charge at the Richland County jail.
