Drugs, guns, bump stocks, $16,000 in cash seize in SC bust

Deputies seized an array of drugs and guns, along with $16,000 in cash.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Two people have been arrested after Fairfield County deputies seized an array of drugs and guns, along with cash, according to officials.

On Friday, Fairfield County deputies say they executed a drug search warrant in the 300 block of Holly Street in the Winnsboro area. As a result, deputies say their seized over 100 grams of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”), over 20 grams of cocaine, over 7 ounces of marijuana, along with quantities of morphine, amphetamines, hydrocodone, oxycodone, and methadone.

In addition to the drugs, deputies say they seized more than 16,000 in cash, three handguns and an assault rifle outfitted with a scope, high capacity magazines and a “bump stock” similar to that used in the 2017 Las Vegas shooting incident.

Deputies say they arrested two people found inside the home upon execution of the search warrant.

Timothy D. Weldon, 31, is charged with for trafficking cocaine base (“crack cocaine”), trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of oxycodone, possession of morphine, possession of methadone, possession of amphetamines and possession of hydrocodone.

I want to thank members of the community, who let us know when they see activity that they think may be drug activity," said Fairfield County sheriff Will Montgomery. "We have been receiving complaints in this area about drugs and have been working hard to make strong cases."
