RAVENEL, S.C. (AP) - Police say a former janitor is accused of stealing more than two dozen Apple iPads from an elementary school in Ravenel.
Multiple news outlets report that online jail records show 33-year-old Marshall Kendrell Scott of Hollywood was charged with grand larceny. He worked as a janitor at E.B. Ellington Elementary School.
Documents show the alleged theft of 27 iPads occurred sometime between May 31 and July 27 and was discovered by the school's principal.
An arrest affidavit says Scott told detectives he stole the iPads from a locked storage closet and put them in a recycling bin, which he then took to his car.
Charleston County School District spokeswoman Erica Taylor says the district is cooperating with deputies during the investigation.
It isn't immediately clear if Scott has an attorney.
