Man identified in fatal shooting at Columbia convenience store

While investigators haven't made any arrests yet, they're reviewing video to determine what happened and following 'solid leads,' officials said.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Richland County Coroner's Office has released the name of a 46-year-old man killed in a Sunday morning shooting at a Columbia convenience store.

According to a Columbia Police Department spokesperson, the shooting happened at the E-Z Spot convenience store in the 3200 block of Farrow Road around 12:35 a.m. Authorities said a 46-year-old man was shot and taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The coroner's office has since identified the shooting victim as Jevon Belton.

While investigators haven't made any arrests yet, they're reviewing video to determine what happened and following what a department spokesperson described as solid leads.
