LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A Batesburg-Leesville man is in jail and charged with attempted murder following a Thursday afternoon stabbing.
The Lexington County Sheriff's Department said detectives responded to the 100 block of Haven Road, where authorities believe 38-year-old Jesse Waylon Jones stabbed the victim twice following an argument. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover, the sheriff's department said.
Authorities said Jones ran from the scene but was caught a short time later and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
