Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The former Fort Jackson soldier who police say went on a robbery spree back in 2014 has plead guilty to the charges against him.
Prosecutors say Cedrick Gaines, 37, robbed 19 stores in 32 days wearing a hockey mask. He was arrested by the Columbia Police Department and during court on Wednesday, he plead guilty to 45 charges including armed robbery and kidnapping.
William Stern is the manager of Game Stop on Killian road, one of the shops Gained robbed.
Stern testified in court and says that day still haunts him, "every time I hear the door bell go off I stare at that door because I expect something to happen my wife she texts and calls me every time I close to make sure I am okay since that night."
During court Gaines said he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Circuit Court Judge Casey Manning is set to sentence him Thursday morning. He potentially faces over 1,000 years in jail, if the sentence were to be handed down consecutively.
