COLUMBIA, S.C. — A inmate has been stabbed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention center Monday night according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
According to law enforcement they were called to the jail around 9 pm Monday night.
When deputies arrived they found the person with multiple stab wounds on their body and they were transported to the hospital.
No word on the inmate's condition or if they've identified the other inmate they think might be responsible.
Deputies say this is an ongoing investigation. The stabbing is the latest assault at the jail investigated by the sheriff's department in recent weeks, with the most recent announced back on June 18.
