Union County, SC (WLTX) -- Two Upstate inmates escaped the Union County Jail and are considered dangerous, according to the Union County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies say 41-year-old Ashley Tyler and 18-year-old Kenneth Lipsey Jr. escaped around 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Tyler is currently charged with murder, sex offender registry violation, probation violation, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Lipsey is charged with possession of meth.
Officials say they doubt the men are armed, but ask everyone to use caution.
Officers are actively searching for the two men using a SLED helicopter. Anyone with information about these inmates are asked to call CrimeStoppers at 864-427-0800.
