Lexington drug investigation nets drugs, one arrest, warrants for others

Detectives seized more than five pounds of marijuana during a search.

LEXINGTON, S.C. — A drug investigation in Lexington has resulted in the arrest of two people and seizure of pounds of marijuana.   

Detectives with the Lexington Police Department began the investigation due to complaints of drug activity at a residence on the 100 block of Belhaven Lane, which is in the Martin’s Grove neighborhood, and is located off of Park Road in the Town of Lexington.

Between December 2019 and January 2020, detectives made several controlled purchases of marijuana from Arden Blaize Breazeale, 18, of Lexington, with the assistance of a confidential informant.

Marijuana found during search

On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, detectives, along with members of the Lexington Police Department Emergency Services Team (E.S.T.), executed a search warrant at the residence of Arden Breazeale. During the search, detectives found approximately five pounds of marijuana in his bedroom, along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

During the search of the residence, detectives issued James S. Marshall, 25, of Lexington, a citation for Simple Possession of Marijuana. Detectives also issued Sarah Craft Haner, 62, of Lexington, citations for Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Arden Breazeale was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center and he has been charged with two counts of Distribution of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

During his appearance at Lexington County Bond Court, Arden Breazeale was given a bond of $22,000.
