RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have arrested a 40-year-old man after they said he shot someone off Broad River Road on Friday night.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department said Marshaun Robinson is facing a charge of attempted murder following an incident that happened in the 1200 block of Metze Road around 11 p.m.
The sheriff's department said Robinson initially drove away from the scene but was eventually detained and questioned. Deputies said they learned during questioning the suspect of a possible victim inside a nearby building.
Preliminary details from the sheriff's department suggest Robinson and the victim know one another and had a "brief conversation" during which Robinson fired multiple shots. Authorities believe the victim returned fire in self-defense.
Both the suspect and victim were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Robinson was later booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
