20-year-old's death in Manning draws state agents and a public plea

While details regarding the ongoing investigation were limited, police said they are working to gather information and evidence and following all leads.

MANNING, S.C. — Manning Police are investigating the Wednesday shooting death of a 20-year-old man with help from the county deputies and state agents.

A department spokesperson said deputies were called to the Bellwood area of town, where they found the victim, Christopher Forehand of Manning, with a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead by the Clarendon County Coroner's Office.

While details regarding the ongoing investigation were limited, police said they are working to gather information and evidence and following all leads. The Clarendon County Sheriff's Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are assisting in the investigation.

Police are also asking for the public's help. They urge anyone with information to call Lt. Sean Briley, Crime Stoppers or the Manning Police Department tip line at 803-433-8025.
