RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — One person is recovering after being shot off Broad River Road on Friday evening.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department said the shooting happened in the 1600 block of Longcreek Drive just after 7 p.m. Deputies were originally responding to reports of gunfire but found a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body when they arrived.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital for treatment by Richland County Emergency Medical Services. That victim's condition was not released publicly.
Investigators believe the incident was isolated but haven't provided any additional information about how the shooting came about or who may be responsible.
