RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say a man who was trying to intervene during an assault was taken to the hospital after being stabbed on Friday night.
According to a spokesperson with the Richland County Sheriff's Department, a suspect was assaulting someone in the 100 block of Brookland Circle off West Beltline Boulevard and Two Notch Road late Friday night when the victim attempted to step in. The victim was then stabbed in the upper body.
The suspect, Kevin Romero-Aroche, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. The victim's condition wasn't available.
