Missing Florida woman has been found safe in Allendale County

Jessica Rapsys was reported missing on Aug. 13.

ALLENDALE COUNTY, S.C. — A 27-year-old Florida woman who had been reported missing on Tuesday, August 13, has been found safe in Allendale County, according to South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Jessica Rapsys was reported missing after not arriving at her aunt's home on Tuesday. Her car and some personal belongings were found along railroad tracks near Martin, SC, near the Georgia-South Carolina border Tuesday night.

The Allendale County Sheriff's Office, SLED, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Energy Savannah River Site Security Services, and the owners of Creek Plantation assisted in the search for Rapsys.

She was found safe Friday morning and has been taken to a local medical facility where she will be evaluated and provided any necessary treatment. 

“Finding Jessica was a team effort,” said Sheriff James Freeman. “We all worked together and did not give up hope.”

In a statement from SLED, the Rapsys family said they would like to extend their deepest thanks to everyone who helped find Jessica and respectfully ask for privacy.
