Freddie Grant arrest warrants reveal his relationship with Adriana Laster

He was served 5 arrest warrants, two of which are for the kidnapping and murder of Adriana Laster.

ELGIN, S.C. — Freddie Grant faces charges of murder and kidnapping in connection with the case of Adrianna Laster, whose remains were discovered after being missing for 12 years.

Grant was served with the arrest warrants at the county jail, with charges including murder and kidnapping.

The newly obtained murder warrant cites witness statements detailing the violence committed against Laster, including her plea that Grant intended to kill her.

Grant has also been charged with kidnapping Laster in June of 2011, three months before she went missing. The warrant states he forced her into his vehicle and punched her in the back of the head, causing her to lose consciousness before driving them away from their residence, where she woke up and tried to escape.

Grant was taken from prison in the Lowcountry to the Kershaw County Detention Center on Jan. 30, where he was served these warrants; after receiving those charges, he was transported back to prison.

"Again, the evidence we had in Gabbie's case is almost exactly what the evidence is with this case here because of how he buried her, the location, just all of it kinda fits in the same, and that goes into providing his guilt so we are going to still work with them," Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said.

The Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office says a court date for Grant has not yet been determined. Richland County Sheriff Lott says there is no rush in the legal proceedings.

"There is no hurry, he's going nowhere. I mean, so it will make its way through the system, and be presented at a preliminary hearing, then will be indicted by the grand jury, and then placed on the docket by the solicitor's office, and there's a lot of other murder cases before that one so it's kinda up to the solicitor at that point, there's really no time table,  again I guess one of the beauties of it is he's not going anywhere, we know where he's at," Sheriff Lott said.

The coroner's office has concluded the search at the sandpit off Highway Church Road, and they continue to examine Laster's remains.

Grant is already serving time for killing Gabbiee Swainson.
