AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. — The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who witnesses said shot someone and left them to die on Christmas Eve.
According to a statement released on Sunday afternoon, deputies were called to the 100 block of Squire Street around 11 a.m. to reports of gunfire. They found an unresponsive man lying in the front yard of a home on the same block. Despite efforts by deputies to save his life, the man, later identified as 29-year-old Rondre J. Gomillion of Aiken, died from what authorities believe was a gunshot wound to the chest.
A witness told deputies that the victim and gunman had gotten into an argument outside the home that ended in gunfire. Authorities said the suspected gunman, a Black male who is about 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds, and possibly goes by "Tony," drove away in a dark blue Chevrolet Suburban or Trailblazer. Authorities also believe the suspect has ties to Florence.
The Aiken County Coroner's Office is assisting in the investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Aiken County Sheriff's Office at 803-648-6811 or visit the sheriff's office website.
