"We’re not dropping it': Orangeburg deputies seek info on fatal shooting from 2 years ago

Investigators determined the shooting happened near a St. David Street residence in Orangeburg.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Orangeburg County deputies are seeking information about an unsolved 2022 shooting that left a 36-year-old man dead.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said that on October 15, 2022, investigators were called to the then-RMC after staff there reported a gunshot wound victim. The victim, Michael Frasier, arrived at the hospital conscious but later passed away.

Investigators determined the shooting happened near a St. David Street residence in Orangeburg.

Investigators viewed hospital security video that showed Frasier being dropped off by another male. That male was later identified and interviewed. The case, however, remains unsolved.

“This case is two years old but we’re not dropping it,” Ravenell said. “There’s somebody out there who knows exactly what happened.”

If you have any information on the case, deputies ask you to contact the Orangeburg County Communications Center at 803-534-3550 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously in any of the following ways:
