Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A panel denied parole Wednesday for a Columbia mother convicted in connection with the disappearance of her son.
The three member group unanimously turned down the request for parole from Zinah Jennings.
In September of 2012, Jennings was sentenced to 10 years in prison on an unlawful conduct toward a child charge related to the mystery surrounding her son, Amir Jennings.
The child was last seen around Thanksgiving of 2011. Zinah Jennings was arrested a month later, but prosecutors and law enforcement say she has never revealed what happened to the boy.
The woman will be eligible for another parole hearing next year. She had already been given credit for time served before her conviction, and coupled with sentencing rules, she would reach the end of her term in prison in November of 2017.
