Pregnant Woman Accused of Running Over SC Deputy

 A Taylors woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she ran over a deputy while fleeing the scene of a domestic violence incident, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said.

Taylors, SC (The Greenville News) - A Taylors woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she ran over a deputy while fleeing the scene of a domestic violence incident, the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said.

Jordan Alyse Gary, 23, is charged with attempted murder, third-degree domestic violence, resisting arrest with assault of a police officer and malicious injury to personal property, according to warrants.

Deputies were responding to an address in the 400 block of Indian Trail in Taylors about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a 911 call about a domestic incident, Sheriff's Office Lt. Ty Miller said.

“The investigation revealed that the suspect had assaulted the resident and was facing arrest,” Miller said in a release.

Gary, who is pregnant, punched a male victim in the face, according to the arrest warrant.

Deputies tried to take her into custody, but the suspect ran to her vehicle and, “while fleeing the scene, hit and ran over our deputy with her vehicle.”

Gary was found off Glenwood Road and taken into custody about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday after an extensive search of the area, the Sheriff's Office said.

The deputy wasa released from the hospital after suffering a serious but non life-threatening leg injury, the Sheriff's Office said.

Gary was being held at the Greenville County Detention Center Wednesday without bond, jail records show.
