Two victims say they were shot after answering a knock at the door in northeast Richland County

Authorities are searching for the suspects responsible for the shooting and urge anyone with information to call them or Crime Stoppers.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say two people are recovering from gunshot wounds following an overnight shooting at an apartment complex in northeastern Richland County.

According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to the 4800 block of Smallwood Road in reference to gunfire and shooting victims. Deputies found one victim who was hit in the lower extremities and another who was shot in the abdomen. The victims said they answered a knock on the door and were shot when they opened it. Both were taken to an area hospital.

Deputies are now searching for the suspects responsible for the shooting and asking anyone who may have information or security camera videos showing the incident to contact the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
