COLUMBIA, S.C. — A Richland One School District is resuming normal operations after temporarily placing students on "hold" status on Thursday.
A spokesperson for Richland One said Burton-Pack Elementary was initially keeping students in their classrooms as a precaution while law enforcement searched for a suspect in the area. The school district deferred to police for additional information about the suspect or potential charges.
The school district has since lifted the hold status, as police told them that the suspect had left the area. The school is located southeast of SC-277 and northwest of Two Notch Road.
