Cayce shooting leaves teen wounded; search underway for suspect vehicle

CAYCE, S.C. — Authorities in Cayce are investigating a Saturday afternoon shooting that wounded a 17-year-old boy.

According to a spokesperson for Cayce Police, the shooting happened around 3 p.m. on Lucas Street. Based on a preliminary investigation, the teen's wounds were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Officials said that while the investigation is still underway, they do not believe this shooting was a random act.

Police are looking for a late 1990s to early 2000s model dark blue four-door Honda Accord. Police believe the vehicle was driven to the location, after which the people inside opened fire.
