Woman in critical condition after shooting outside fast food restaurant on Harbison Boulevard

Columbia Police are investigating the Thursday morning shooting as an isolated incident

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police were on the scene of a shooting at fast food restaurant in the Harbison area early this morning that has left one person injured.

Officers responded to a call around 10 a.m. to the Bojangles at 151 Harbison Blvd. Arriving at the scene they found a woman injured by gunfire outside of the restaurant. The victim has been transferred to a local hospital for treatment and is reported to be in critical condition.

Deputies from the Richland and Lexington County Sheriff's Departments assisted Columbia Police at the scene.

Police are treating this as an isolated incident and the shooting may have stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two groups. They say several shots were fired and multiple people are believed to be involved in the incident. Investigators have not yet said if they have anyone in custody or what may have led to the shooting.

The 100 block of Harbison Boulevard was closed while police investigated but it has since reopened.

Police are reviewing surveillance video from the area and following up on leads from witnesses at the scene. Investigators ask if you have any information about this morning's incident, you are asked to contact Columbia Police.

"If you saw a car speeding away or people running away, that would be helpful. Anything that out of the ordinary if you travel this route daily, that you saw coming from the vicinity of the Bojangles," said Deputy Chief Melron Kelly with the Columbia Police Dept.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
