RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say a man is dead following an overnight shooting outside of Eastover.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department said the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Sunny Acres Drive. The sheriff's department said deputies found the victim lying on the ground outside a home and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
Investigators said family members were inside when the incident happened and heard gunshots. The family members said they heard a vehicle speeding away immediately after the gunfire.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services personnel. The sheriff's department urged anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or visit CrimeSC.com.
