DENMARK, S.C. — State investigators are searching for a suspect who shot a South Carolina store owner earlier in the month.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said it came in to investigate the shooting after a request from Denmark Police Chief Leroy Grimes on Aug. 6. The department was investigating a shooting at Denmark Grocery at 59 Magnolia Avenue in Bamburg that happened around 8 p.m. that day. Investigators said that the store owner was shot and taken to the hospital for treatment. Nothing was taken from the store, and no one else was hurt.
On Thursday, SLED released photos of the suspect in the shooting. They asked anyone with information about the shooting or suspect to call 866-472-8477 or email tips@sled.sc.gov.
