Sumter sheriff searching for missing teen, possible runaway

Ty'Reontae Nashon McCray was last seen Nov. 25, 2023 in south Sumter

SUMTER, S.C. — The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is alerting the public to help them find a missing teenager, possible runaway.

15-year-old Ty'Reontae Nashon McCray was last seen leaving his residence on Belmont Drive in South Sumter on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023.  He was reported as missing on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

According to the Sheriff's Office, McCray was in the company of a friend that goes by the name of "Junior," who is said to be a runaway from the Charlotte area. The two juveniles left McCray's home on foot around noon on Saturday. Neither McCray or Junior are believed to have a vehicle.

McCray is described as being 5'7", weighing 180 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.
