Authorities identify two killed in Sumter hotel shooting

Sumter Police are offering a reward for information leading to arrests in the deadly shooting.

SUMTER, S.C. — Authorities have identified two people found dead following an early morning shooting at a Sumter hotel.

According to the Sumter Police Department, officers were called to a shooting at the Sleep Inn on Broad Street around 4:30 p.m. Police found two people dead at the scene. On Sunday afternoon, the Sumter County Coroner's Office identified them as 20-year-old Saquan Logan and 19-year-old Demari Spann, both of Sumter.

Autopsies for both victims are planned at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston on Wednesday.

Details about the shooting are still limited, but police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to arrests in the case.
