Three Arrested for Helping SC Inmate Escape from Prison

Three arrests have been made in relation to the escape of  inmate Jimmy Causey in early July, according to the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC).

Three people have been arrested and accused of helping in the escape of South Carolina inmate Jimmy Causey in early July.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections announced the arrests Thursday.

Lareece Rosier of Hopkins, Benjamin Bevier and Robert Williams, both of Columbia, face various charges related to Causey's escape.

Lareece G. Rosier, 54, of Hopkins is accused of sending money to Causey several times through a Western Union at a Walmart on Garners Ferry Road in Columbia.

Officers say Bevier allowed his vehicle to be used in the escape. Investigators say Bevier gave his 1995 Chevrolet truck to Williams, who picked Causey up after his escape. Police say Bevier also denied having any knowledge of Causey's location or escape when they visited his home while searching for Causey.

Robert Williams, 42, of Columbia is accused of driving to Lieber Correctional Institution to pick up Causey after his escape.

SCDC continues to investigate the escape.
