NEWBERRY, S.C. — Police say one person was flown to an area hospital following a shooting in Newberry on Thursday.
A statement from Newberry Police Chief Kevin Goodman said the shooting happened on Bouknight Street and involved a single gunshot victim whose current condition is not known. As of Thursday evening, he was described only as stable.
While details regarding the shooting are limited, Goodman said that it appeared to be an isolated incident that arose out of a "dispute between individuals." As such, he said in the press statement that there is no perceived danger to the general public.
Authorities haven't said whether they have a suspect in mind for the shooting and, as of Friday afternoon, didn't have an update on the case to share publicly.
