Two children die in Easter Sunday automobile accident in Orangeburg County

Coroner has identified the two children, ages 3 and 6

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — The Orangeburg County Coroner has released the identification of two children who died in an automobile accident Easter Sunday afternoon.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, the incident occurred around 5:05 p.m. on the Charleston Highway (US 178) about 4 miles east of Bowman, South Carolina. A 2017 GMC Terrain driven by a 27-year-old male was traveling east on US 178 when it went off the right side of the road, striking a ditch and a tree. 

The driver was airlifted to a local hospital.

Ariyannah Crosby, 6, and Saniya Stevens, 3, of Quince Circle Summerville, SC both died at the scene of injuries sustained from the motor vehicle collision. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol's MAIT Unit continues to investigate the incident.
