Two shootings in Batesburg-Leesville under investigation

The shootings happened late Friday at separate locations. Police believe the two incidents are related.

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. — Police in Batesburg-Leesville are investigating two Friday night shootings that they believe are related.

According to Chief Darren Amick with the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department, one shooting happened Friday around 11 p.m. near the Waffle House on West Church Street. Police said they were notified when the victim arrived at an area hospital.

Another shooting occurred less than an hour later near the Exxon convenience store and gas station at 102 North Pine Street. Investigators said they found a shooting victim across the street in the Dollar General parking lot. 

Authorities said the victims' wounds weren't considered life-threatening, and one had already been released from the hospital.
