COLUMBIA, S.C. — Police say two men were wounded in an overnight shooting that happened along a main route in Columbia.
Columbia Police said officers were first notified of the shooting by ShotSpotter, a system that alerts to and gives general locations for gunfire. They arrived in the area of Millwood Avenue and Dillon Street just after 1 a.m. where the two victims were reportedly shot.
Police didn't have specifics on the severity of the injuries but said that they did not appear to be life-threatening. Both, however, were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
Police said they have since collected ballistic evidence from the scene. The department didn't provide any additional information regarding a possible motive for the shooting or a potential suspect in the case.
