LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – More is being revealed in a woman’s death leading to a man’s arrest in Elizabethtown on Saturday.
According to police, 20-year-old Joseph Capstraw admitted to beating a woman to death – he says in a fit of rage.
It happened around 2 a.m. in the 500 block of Joan Avenue.
Capstraw and the victim met at a gathering in Georgia and hitchhiked to Elizabethtown.
The couple had apparently met in Lumpkin County, Georgia at the Rainbow Family of Living Light, a place for self-described misfits, nature lovers and artists who gather annually in a national forest.
It’s unclear if the couple had any connections to Elizabethtown or where they were traveling.
Beth Franklyn, a neighborhood resident, says she hasn’t been able to get the victim off of her mind.
“I’ve thought about that lady all day today and thought about what fear she must have felt,” she said.
Police say the woman has been identified but are not releasing her name at this time.
