Eddie Murphy is going to be a father for the ninth time.
The comedian, 54, and girlfriend Paige Butcher, 36, are expecting a child together in May of 2016, Murphy's rep Arnold Robinson confirmed to USA TODAY. The couple has been together for four years.
The baby will be Butcher's first child but the ninth for Murphy. The actor has three children with Tamara Hood — 26-year-old Eric, with Paulette McNeely, and 25-year-old Christian — and five children — Bria, 25, Myles, 22, Shayne, 21, Zola, 15, and Bella, 13 -- with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell, and his youngest — Angel, 8 — with former Spice Girl Melanie "Mel B" Brown.
The comedian was recently honored with the prestigious Mark Twain Prize, and stars including Tracy Morgan, Arsenio Hall, Kathy Griffin, Chris Rock, Joe Piscopo, Jay Pharoah, Trevor Noah and George Lopez, among others, were there to celebrate.
"It's an award, because usually when it's a prize there's usually money involved," he said in his acceptance speech. "(To) clear up the confusion for future recipients ... if you don't want to call it an award, maybe you can call it the Mark Twain Sur-prise. The 'surprise' being you ain't getting any money!"
