Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A Columbia actor who made several appearances in popular movies has died.
Bill Roberson of Columbia passed away over the weekend.
He's perhaps best known as the man talking to "Forest Gump" on the park bench who Forrest tells his life story to.
He also appeared in "The Patriot" and "Radio," two films that take place in South Carolina. You may also remember him from the Riverbanks Zoo's "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" commercial campaign from a few years ago.
Roberson and his wife were the owners of Classical Glass on North Main Street.
Roberson was 59-years-old.
