Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Music legend Smokey Robinson is coming to Columbia for a concert this summer.
Robinson is set to perform Saturday, June 9 at the Township Auditorium.
Robinson, of course, became an international sensation starting in the late 1950s for Motown Records, first with his group "Smokey Robinson and the Miracles" and again as a solo artist. His many hits include "Shop Around," "I Second That Emotion," and "Tears of a Clown."
He was also a prolific songwriter, often crafting some of Motown's biggest hits for other artists, including the Temptations and Marvin Gaye.
Robinson was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
