BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C. — Officials said on Thursday that a major medical facility near Denmark is closed due to an ongoing water outage in the area.

A spokesperson for the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Orangeburg said Bamberg-Barnwell Emergency & Imaging is closed due to a water outage in the town of Denmark. While crews are onsite working to resolve the issue, the hospital group spokesperson said the facility will remain closed until they restore water.

The spokesperson said patients with "life or limb-threatening" emergencies should call 911. Otherwise, the emergency room at MUSC Health Orangeburg will be open, and the MUSC Orthopaedic Urgent Care in the annex of the main hospital will remain open until 8 p.m.
