COLUMBIA, S.C. — Home Team BBQ is opening their new location in Columbia's Five Points this Monday.
The company said it will open its doors at 700 Harden Street at 11 a.m. on May 13. That's the same location where the old Harper's restaurant was for nearly 20 years.
The company says Home Team BBQ will offer brunch, lunch, dinner and late-night offerings. They've been featured in USA TODAY, Southern Living, and Travel & Leisure. Home Team has a location in Charleston and decided to come up to Columbia for this new venture.
“When the Columbia opportunity came up, we knew we couldn’t turn it down. This location will allow us to bring our unique brand of hospitality to Five Points, and we are excited to become a part of the Columbia community,” says Aaron Siegel, the chief operating partner and pitmaster. “We look forward to welcoming our new neighbors into Home Team!”
The company says the place will offer multi-regional barbeque with "creative sides, fresh salads, tacos, and more. Signature items will include Fiery Ron’s burger (two – 4 oz. patties, American cheese, house made bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, house pickle, harissa mayo, brioche bun), BBQ nachos (pulled pork, pulled chicken, chicken chili or black beans, three house made salsas, sharp cheddar, Monterey jack, pickled jalapeños, cream, guacamole, chimichurri), and Fiery Ron’s smoked chicken wings (Home Team BBQ dry rub, Alabama white sauce; optional death relish).
Home Team will also have a late night specialty menu of snacks both large and small available from 10 p.m. – 1 a.m. nightly.
For drinks, Home Team will have an American whiskey selection and frozen cocktails, such as the far-famed Game Changer and Frozen Irish Coffee. In addition to Home Team’s signature ‘Nose to Ale’ Golden Ale (brewed in conjunction with Palmetto Brewing Co.), the restaurant will feature a host of local and regional craft breweries alongside national mainstays.
The interior of the building has been completely redesigned, with a large mural of music legend James Brown. The windows are new, and the interior wall has been removed to create more open space. It will have a covered patio, picnic tables, and TVs throughout for sports fans. Inside seating will offer both low and high-top tables, in addition to booths and large format tables to host parties up to 12.
