COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Columbia Housing Authority (CHA) announced that their new interim executive director officially started her new role on Monday.
Ivory Mathews was appointed as the interim executive director in May of this year. She comes to Columbia from the Greenville Housing Authority, where she served as executive director for the past five years.
Gilbert Walker, the former executive director, announced his retirement in February of this year. He officially retired on June 30, 2019.
Mathews is set to hold a special-called meeting on Friday, July 5, 2019, with board members. She is expected to discuss her 12-month plan for the CHA.
An extension was also given for former residents of Allen Benedict Court. Originally, residents were told to have all of their belongings out of their previous apartments by June 30, now residents have until July 15.
