MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Myrtle Beach Police say a teenager died while swimming near the shore over the weekend.

Officers said the incident happened Saturday, August 24 near the beach at 12th Avenue. Officers got a call around 5:20 p.m. that two people who'd been swimming in that area were in distress.

Officers were able to rescue one person but the other was unaccounted for.
