COLUMBIA, S.C. — Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person killed in a two-vehicle accident on Monday, December 9.
The accident occurred around 8:45 p.m. in the 4400 block of St. Andrews Road, near the intersection of Leisure Lane in Columbia.
Brittany Rosalinda Valencia, 16, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling eastbound on St. Andrews when it collided with a vehicle traveling westbound on St. Andrews. Valencia, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained during the accident. Drivers of both vehicles were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Lexington County Coroner continue to investigate the incident.
