(WLTX) -- Three officers are undergoing treatment after being injured at a South Carolina correctional facility Sunday, according to officials from the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
They say there was a disturbance at Oak Unit B Wing at Kershaw Correctional Institution where one officer suffered stab wounds during the incident. All three officers were transported to an outside medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Department of Corrections said emergency response teams secured the wing around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night, and all inmates were accounted for and back in their cells.
Officials said there was never a threat to the public and there was not a hostage situation.
